Alternative databanks for licensed psychotherapists

Only psychological psychotherapists and children and adolescents therapists have a state licence (licence to practise psychotherapy), which proves that they have studied psychotherapy for three or five years at an accredited training institute.

Only this kind of therapists can be found in psychotherapeutensuche.de. Since our database is unfortunately not yet complete, you should also consider a search in the databases of the psychotherapeutic chambers and the public health insurance associations database of your state. Unfortunately, all of these databases cannot be found by Google and are structured and operated differently. Please note that only those colleagues who have explicitly taken care of an entry can be found in these directories. Therefore, the lists of chambers of psychotherapists are very incomplete and often outdated.

The list of the public health insurance associations databse is always up-to-date and complete. But with regard to psychotherapy, they only provide information about the address and contact details. The databases are also complicated to use for laymen. The most important shortcoming, however, is that only psychotherapists with health insurance approval are registered. Psychotherapists with private practices can then only be found in other databases.
